James V. (Jim) Lackey

Operating Executive

James V. (Jim) Lackey, Jr., operating executive with FOCUS Search Partners, has nearly three decades of healthcare experience.

Before joining FOCUS Search Partners in 2010, Jim was an executive at Passport Health Communications where he became president shortly after its founding in 1996, chief executive officer in 1998 and chairman of the board in 2006. During his tenure, he led the company from its startup through product development, revenue generation, three acquisitions and three rounds of capital financing to attain its current position as a leader in the healthcare technology and information services industry.

Prior to Passport Health Communications, Jim spent four years with the nation's largest worker's compensation PPO, FOCUS Healthcare Management, as executive vice president and later as president.

Jim was also a founding officer of Coventry Corporation and vice president of administration during its start-up, acquisition and IPO phases. He was assistant vice president of administration for HealthAmerica Corporation, which bought or built over 39 HMOs before its sale in 1986.

Jim serves on the board of directors of Passport Health Communications, EnableComp, PharmMD and the Nashville Health Care Council.

He is a popular speaker on topics including, healthcare challenges and solutions, scaling an entrepreneurial venture, leadership management, time management during high-growth and his personal formula for building high-growth and profitable businesses.

Jim earned his degree from Oklahoma Baptist University.
