James V. (Jim) Lackey, Jr. led Passport Health Communications from startup, through product development, revenue generation, three acquisitions and three rounds of capital financing to its current position as a leader in the healthcare technology and information services industry. He joined Passport Health Communications as President shortly after its founding in 1996, became Chief Executive Officer in 1998 and then became Chairman of the Board in 2006. He relinquished his CEO role in 2009.

Passport's Investors: SSM Ventures, Coleman Swenson Booth, CB Health Ventures, Dauphin Capital Partners, Spectrum Equity Investors, Great Hill Partners and Primus Capital Funds.

Prior to joining Passport Health Communications, Lackey spent four years with the nation's largest worker's compensation PPO, FOCUS Healthcare Management, as executive vice president and later as president. FOCUS sold to Concentra and recently again to Coventry. Before that, Jim was a founding officer of Coventry Corporation in 1987 and served as Vice President of Administration during the start-up, acquisition and IPO phases. He was assistant vice president of administration for HealthAmerica Corporation that was the leader in the national managed care industry. HealthAmerica bought or built over 39 HMOs before its sale in 1986.

Jim currently serves as a consultant providing short term assistance with process engineering, strategy, capitalization, due diligence and other merger and acquisition activities, liquidity events and positioning.

Additionally, Jim is popular speaker on topics including, healthcare challenges and solutions, scaling an entrepreneurial venture, leadership management, time management during high-growth and his personal formula for building high-growth and profitable businesses.

Personal

Lackey holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Oklahoma Baptist University. He and his wife of 33 years have three sons, two daughters-in-law, a grandson and two granddaughters. He enjoys camping, motorcycles, cars and is an instrument-rated private pilot.
